World Sight Day 2018
October 11th is World Sight Day! WSD is an international day of awareness, held annually on the second Thursday of October to focus attention on the global issue of avoidable blindness and visual impairment.
We would like to raise awareness on the importance of regular eye exams as well as the health issue that uncorrected refractive error represents – so that everyone, everywhere, can have the vision correction they need to learn better, work better and live better.
Having your eyes checked on a yearly basis is fundamental to protect the most important sense we have as human beings: our sight. Remember, 4 out of 5—80%–of the world’s blind are avoidably so. What’s the first thing you can do? Plan for an eye examination. Look around in your family, especially for those who are vulnerable: young, school-going children, the elderly, those with diabetes.
At Li & Liao Optometry, we are committed to visual health for all. We hope to encourage everyone to commit to love their eyes, spread the word and join us in creating the change that is needed for the whole world to see clearly.
Have a great day!
